Club night is the first Friday of every month. Doors open at 7.00pm (when the kettle is put on) and
the meeting starts prompt at 7.30pm. Clearing up time is around 9.30pm.
Membership of the Club is £22 annually, with a meeting fee of £1. Guests are
welcome to attend.
Each month the Club holds an in-house competition at
which the members bring a selected piece of turning, which is then judged by fellow members.
The Club owns a number of lathes and on those occasions when a guest turner or Company is
not in attendance, the lathes are brought out for the members to learn new techniques, eradicate
any problems they are having with tools or just learn from the skills of others. The format for these
nights is very informal, so if there is anything specific you want to learn, all you have to do is
speak up!
These Club days are invaluable - from beginner through to those who have been turning for the
last fifty years, you'll never fail to walk away without something new being added to your own
repertoire.
