WEST PENNINE WOODTURNERS
HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

As ‘Woodturning’ magazine reminds us every month:
WOODTURNING IS AN INHERENTLY DANGEROUS PURSUIT.
It goes on to note that all woodturners should observe current safety regulations when turning and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protective equipment (RPE).
Whether individuals choose to take notice of this warning and advice when in the privacy of their own workshops is a matter for them but it is important that all members are aware of Health and Safety (H&S) issues as they apply to the club and follow the policies and procedures laid down in the Risk Assessment document(s). This will ensure that members, guests and anyone else attending the club will remain safe and, importantly, that the club insurance requirements are met.
IF ANY CLUB MEMBERS HAVE HEALTH AND SAFETY CONCERNS IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THESE ARE DRAWN TO THE ATTENTION OF THE SAFETY OFFICER (Stan Tyrer) OR ANY MEMBER OF THE COMMITTEE.
